Kwik Stix: Metalix and Neons Giveaway

Earlier this year we had the opportunity and privilege to review Kwik Stix 12 pk from The Pencil Grip, Inc. and we loved them.  Kwik Stix have become one of our favorite ways to paint in our house because they are so versatile, easy, and mess-free.  They are also one of our favorite gifts to give to young artists.  So when I was contacted by The Pencil Grip, Inc. again to see if we wanted to try out their Kwik Stix 6  packs of Metalix and Neons sets I jumped at the opportunity because I knew they would be a lot of fun.
Kwik Stix Review and Giveaway, Glimpse of Normal Blog
Kwik Stix are Solid Tempura Paint sticks that come in many colors.  We received a 6 pack of their Metalix Kwik Stix which includes gold, silver, pink, purple, blue, and green.  We received a 6 pack of their Neon Kwik Stix which includes hot pink, neon yellow, neon orange, lime green, electric blue, and purple.  They are about the size of a glue stick which is an easy size for little hands to hold.  They are easy to open and easy to use.  You just pull off the cap, twist the paint up a little, and paint.  They feature a fast drying formula that allows them to dry in just 90 seconds with a paint-like finish.  You can use them on paper, poster board, cardboard, wood, and canvas.  You can even layer the colors on top of each other with our creating a mess because they dry so quickly.
When we first reviewed Kwik Stix, we tried them on paper and they went on so smooth and evenly.  We tried some paper this time for the Metalix and Neons because Little Miss could not wait to try out these gorgeous colors.  She LOVES anything neon right now and anything with glitter so she was beyond excited to try out both of these sets.   I wanted to see how the Kwik Stix would work specifically on other things so I bought Little Miss a wood cat and a wooden letter for her to try the new colors on from one of our local craft stores.  I also bought us some small canvases that were on a really good sale to try the Kwik Stix on.  Little Miss chose how she decorated her cat and her wood letter.  She loved how smooth the paint went on the wood and that she could layer the paint quickly since it dries in 90 seconds.  Her only complaint was that she couldn't get in the really small areas because of the size of the stick, but we solved that by getting out some q-tips and rubbing it on the paint and then on the wood.  She actually had a lot of fun doing that.  Her wood pieces dried quickly and the paint sticks to the wood no problem.

I personally wanted to play with the Kwik Stix and the Metalix 6 Pack is so pretty that I decided I wanted to use them on my canvas.  I went on Pinterest and found some printable chalkboard art for Christmas.  I printed it off and then used it as my guide as I worked.  I had printed off a few designs that I liked so Little Miss decided to join me and picked out another one of the designs and used it as her guide.  We looked at the designs I printed off and tried our best to copy them free-hand in pencil.  Once we had the design drawn out, we used our Kwik Stix to color them.  Little Miss combined the Metalix and Neons on her design and I stuck to just the Metalix.  I wasn't sure how well they would go on the canvas since it isn't smooth, but they did great.  I layered mine just to show how vibrant the colors are and Little Miss used the q-tip method to color some of hers to get thinner lines.

The Pencil Grip was also very kind and generous to send us 3 of their pencil grips to try out since they do offer more than just the Kwik Stix.  They sent us their 3 Step Training Kit which includes The Pencil Grip, The Crossover Grip, and The Pinch Grip.  These grips are designed to teach you the proper way to hold the pencil, comfort and control while holding the pencil, and provide comfort for extended use.  They can be used on pens, pencils, colored pencils, and even crayons.  We have had a lot of fun trying them out and getting comfortable using them.
We LOVE how mess-free these paints are.  Put the cap on tight when you are finished and clean-up is done!  I even used my finger to make sure one area was covered and when I was done I just wiped off my finger and it came right off.  We LOVE how vibrant and true the colors are.  We LOVE that our projects dry so quickly.  Kwik Stix are one of our favorite products and one of our favorite gifts to give.  You should definitely put them on your Christmas list to get and give this year especially if you have young artists in your family.  You can find out more information on The Pencil Grip, Inc. on their website, Facebook, or Pinterest.  You can order your Kwik Stix here or you can now also find some colors of Kwik Stix in Target Stores.  The Pencil Grip, Inc. has even provided me with a coupon for all of my readers, just see the picture above.  If that is not enough, they have also sponsored a giveaway from my blog.  Use the Giveaway Tools Box below to enter to win your very own set of Metalix and Neon Kwik Stix.

  10. My first thought would be to give them to my 15yo daughter - she loved the Kwik Stix we used earlier in the year! But they sure would make a great Christmas gift for my nephew, now that I think about it. So it's a toss-up. LOL
